Gibbs-White shines - player ratings for Liverpool v Nottm Forest

Published on August 21st, Liverpool's Alisson received a rating of 5. He was clearly beaten by Dan Ndoye's goal, yet he produced a spectacular stop to deny Igor Jesus just before half-time, keeping Liverpool in contention. However, he conceded a poor penalty for Gibbs-White's goal.

Jeremie Frimpong, with a rating of 6, struggled with his defensive duties but managed to find effective attacking positions. He played a significant role in the build-up to Florian Wirtz's disallowed goal, although he was marginally offside. His consistency in delivering crosses needs to improve.

Jeremy Jacquet earned a 6, making a crucial goal-saving tackle early on to prevent Igor Jesus from scoring and generally performing well, though he still exhibited occasional carelessness and a lack of discipline.

Virgil van Dijk, rated 6, would have been deeply frustrated by the ease with which Liverpool's defense was breached for Ndoye's opening goal and the simple manner in which Forest earned their penalty.

Milos Kerkez had a poor performance, rated 5, characterized by sloppiness in possession. He was replaced by Kostas Tsimikas in the 71st minute.

Dominik Szoboszlai, rated 6, performed reliably as usual and demonstrated much greater defensive awareness compared to his previous match against Newcastle.

Alexis Mac Allister, rated 6, returned to the starting lineup and delivered a superb reverse pass to Cody Gakpo early in the game. Nevertheless, he was unable to physically contend with Igor Jesus during the sequence that led to Ndoye's goal.

Cody Gakpo, rated 7, began the match on the right flank in what could have been his final appearance for Liverpool and proved effective. He played an excellent pass to Wirtz, then skilfully created an opportunity for Victor Munoz. Although he neglected his defensive responsibilities for Forest's first goal, he was outstanding in setting up Alexander Isak's equalizer.

Florian Wirtz, earning a 7, was a constant threat and was unfortunate not to score, seeing a precise finish disallowed due to Frimpong being offside and a powerful header brilliantly tipped over by Matz Sels. He did, however, provide the assist for Munoz's goal.

Victor Munoz, with a rating of 7, made his first start for Liverpool on his preferred left side. The Spanish player was direct and had a penalty claim rejected, but he should have tested Sels more effectively when he shot wide from inside the box in the first half. He scored a spectacular goal to equalize in front of the Kop, securing a point for Liverpool.

Alexander Isak, rated 6, had only six touches and no shots on target in the first half, but he redeemed his forgettable opening 45 minutes by scoring the first equalizer on the hour mark. This goal, achieved with only his ninth touch, will significantly boost his confidence.

Jair Cunha, rated 6, delivered a solid performance but would recognize he could have done better for Isak's goal.

Nikola Milenkovic, earning a 6, was part of a Forest defensive unit that initially made it exceptionally challenging for Liverpool to penetrate.

Murillo, rated 6, showed no hesitation in carrying the ball forward and put in a strong effort, but he was decisively beaten by Munoz for the goal that leveled the score at 2-2. It remains crucial for Forest to retain him.

Ola Aina, with a rating of 7, maintained his relentless effort throughout the game. As always, he was heavily involved and continuously challenged Liverpool, almost creating a goal for Forest.

James McAtee, rated 7, was given his opportunity following Elliot Anderson's transfer to Manchester City and displayed great neatness on the ball in an impressive display. He delivered some excellent crosses in the first half and competed admirably all afternoon.
