A film titled “Captain India” was first announced in 2021, with Hansal Mehta attached to direct for RSVP’s Ronnie Screwvala and Baweja Studios’ Harman Baweja, who also wrote that version of the script, and Aaryan set to play a pilot involved in the rescue mission. Principal photography was then expected to begin in early 2022.

The film is set for release on Aug. 13, 2027, timed to India’s Independence Day weekend.
