Following a substantial interruption due to rain, which halted play for over three hours, English batsman Emilio Gay was dismissed almost immediately after being caught leg before wicket by a delivery from Pakistani bowler Muhammad Abbas, described as "unplayable", during the third day of their second Test match at Lord's.

A robot has surpassed human performance by achieving a faster 100m sprint time than Usain Bolt's world record, at the World Humanoid Robot Games held in China.

The humanoid robot, created by the Beijing Innovation Centre of Humanoid Robotics, completed the 100-meter dash in a time of 9.39 seconds during the event.

Usain Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medalist, set the human world record for the 100m sprint in 2009, completing it in 9.58 seconds.

The robot outperformed two other competitors, including one developed by Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor, which its maker claimed had achieved a time of 9.32 seconds in a trial run.

Other competitions at the robot games, which commenced on Saturday, included boxing and football, alongside domestic chores such as folding laundry.
