The marathon, scheduled for Sunday, October 4, will run under the theme “Save a Mother”, with proceeds going towards strengthening maternal health services at Mengo Hospital.
During a visit to the hospital, Diana Ondoga, manager, Corporate and Social Investment at Stanbic Bank Uganda, said the partnership demonstrates how sport can mobilise communities around important national causes.
The race will bring together professional and amateur runners, corporate teams, families and members of the public. Mandela National Stadium will serve as both the start and finish point, with the Northern Bypass providing a professionally managed and timed route.
Uganda’s maternal mortality ratio stands at 207 deaths per 100,000 live births, according to the 2024 National Population and Housing Census, down from 336 per 100,000 in 2016.
Dr. Frank Kakuba of Mengo hospital urged Ugandans to embrace voluntary blood donation, while safe-motherhood advocate Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, alias Navio, called for increased blood donations to help save mothers facing severe bleeding during childbirth.
So, +40 years of Rwandese Museveni owning Uganda tax money doesn’t finace & give chance to mothers to “protect maternal mortality”!
Ensuring 45 years of Rwandese Museveni owning tax money, controlling every institution is alright & Ugandans are waiting patiently for next useless fake presidential, parliamentary, local elections to ensure his ownership of their tax money, the zone formed by their tribal lads?
How old will Museveni’s son be when the dad dies of old age in post?
Ugandans remain POWERLESS tribally divided without Common Goal, without Common/National Leader & just look up to the immigrant family & ensure non of them from a tribal land ever occupies State House, WHY?
Just NO to the tribalistic system Rwandese Museveni so so cleaverly put in place & UNITY under ONE Common Leader are all Ugandans need, but these are more dangerous for them, so they are keeping Museveni & family on!
Dr Besigye supported, took care of Museveni’s health for yeats, then woke up to oppose his enslavement of Ugandans, but is rotting in prison & this doen’t bother Ugandans!
Ah! South Africa…had to beg Rwandese Museveni to let Dr Obote be brought back & burried in his country, Uganda!
Why is Rwandese Museveni assured of ownership of Uganda & tax money & even Stanbic doesn’t understand it’s only good governance that is needed to ensure real Health Services, to save mothers?
Ugandans, what is wrong with you & why ensure you are the immigrants in the zone formed by your tribal lands?
